How this works, and how we are paid

We are not a heating company

Expert Power Flush does not own a van or employ engineers. We run the website, answer the enquiries, and pass them to a Gas Safe registered engineer covering your area.

The domain has been around since the mid-2000s and previously belonged to a London power flushing company. It has changed hands. Any reviews, testimonials or guarantees you may find in old search results or archived pages relate to that previous business, not to us, and we have deliberately not reused them.

What we check before an engineer gets enquiries

• Gas Safe registration — verified on the official register, with the correct categories for the work, not just a number on a website.
• Public liability insurance — current certificate, seen rather than claimed.
• Flushing equipment — that they own a proper flushing unit and magnetic capture device, rather than subcontracting it on.
• Independent reviews — a real trading history somewhere we did not set up ourselves.
• How they quote — we will not send enquiries to anyone who quotes a fixed price for a flush over the phone without seeing the system.

Registration and insurance are re-checked periodically, not just at sign-up.

How we are paid

Engineers pay us for the enquiry. You pay nothing to us, and the price you are quoted is between you and the engineer.

The obvious risk in that model is that it rewards volume — more enquiries, more revenue, regardless of whether anyone needed a flush. We have built the site the other way round: the most prominent page on it is a checklist for working out that you do not need one, and the costs page lists the cheaper alternatives above the expensive one.

That is a commercial decision as much as an ethical one. An engineer will pay for an enquiry that turns into work. They will stop paying for a stream of enquiries from people who needed a radiator bled.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your details to multiple companies. One enquiry goes to one engineer.
• We do not run the enquiry into a call centre or a cold-calling list.
• We do not publish reviews. We have not been trading long enough under this ownership to have any, and inventing them is exactly what we are trying not to do.
• We do not quote prices. The ranges on this site are market rates to help you judge a quote, not an offer.

If something goes wrong

Your contract for the work is with the engineer, not with us — so their guarantee, their insurance and their complaints process are what apply. But we do want to know. If an engineer we referred you to has done poor work, quoted dishonestly, or sold you something you did not need, tell us. They stop receiving enquiries. That is the only quality control a matching service genuinely has, and it only works if people use it.
